Homeowners Association (HOA) Board of Directors: Overview of Roles and Responsibilities
The Yavapai Hills HOA Board of directors is comprised of fellow homeowners, elected by those owning property in the Yavapai Hills. We volunteer our time to assist in the day-to-day operations of our community. The association grants board members authority so that we can fulfill our HOA responsibilities to homeowners.
We understand that we are placed in a position of trust and authority to effectively govern our HOA community. We adhere to not only the governing documents in our decisions but also the following guiding principles.
- Duty of Loyalty: We act fairly and in good faith to promote the well-being of the entire community. We do not make decisions that promote our personal interests or result in personal gain.
- Duty of Care: We make informed decisions through sound judgment and necessary research before making decisions on behalf of the community.
- Duty to Act: We also act within the scope of our authority by understanding the scope and limitations of our authority, which are outlined in HOA governing documents.
To paraphrase Milton Friedman, a famous economist and prominent business advocate, as leaders of your HOA our primary responsibility is to you.
